The activities of the Center cover the entire value-chain needed to bridge the gap between basic science and applications, ranging from material science, to fundamental physics, to device design and analytics, to manufacturing.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The research performed at the Center aims at understanding the unique properties of graphene and other 2D materials, and at exploiting them for applications in the fields of high-frequency electronics, flexible electronics, energy-efficient sensing, photonics, as well as for neuromorphic computing and quantum technologies. Particular attention is paid to approaches that are scalable and integrable with existing semiconductor technology. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The Center trains young researchers and promotes collaborations and networking among scientists with diverse backgrounds. The activities of the Center cover the whole spectrum from basic research, to device development,&nbsp; system design and&nbsp; integration.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The Center intends to be a bridge between academia and industry, to ensure that the results of research are transferred in a timely manner into applications. Stampfer )&nbsp;<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Research Infrastructure<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>The Center builds on the laboratories and on the clean-rooms facilities of different research institutes at RWTH, as well as on the facilities of AMO GmbH and of the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.zmnt.rwth-aachen.de\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Central Laboratory for Micro- and Nanotechnology<\/a> at RWTH Aachen University. Together with the complementary expertise of the participating scientists, this bundling of resources allows for a broad portfolio of collaborative research activities within the Center and with
