{"id":1224,"date":"2021-04-07T08:24:45","date_gmt":"2021-04-07T06:24:45","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.graphene.ac\/?p=1224"},"modified":"2021-04-11T07:46:16","modified_gmt":"2021-04-11T05:46:16","slug":"lecture-on-the-physics-of-graphene-and-2d-materials","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.graphene.ac\/index.php\/2021\/04\/07\/lecture-on-the-physics-of-graphene-and-2d-materials\/","title":{"rendered":"Lecture on the &#8220;Physics of Graphene and 2D Materials&#8221;"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>This summer Semester, Prof. Christoph Stampfer will give a lecture on the \u201cPhysics of graphene and 2D materials\u201d.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<!--more-->\n\n\n\n<p>The aim of the course is to provide the fundamentals on the physics of these fascinating materials \u2013 starting from the band structure of graphene and transition metal dichalcogenides (MoS<sub>2<\/sub>, MoSe<sub>2<\/sub>, WS<sub>2<\/sub> and WSe<sub>2<\/sub>), down to their unique electric, mechanical and optical properties. The course will also present important topics such as Hall effect, quantized conductance, electronic interference effects as well as electro-mechanical interaction.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Since this semester the course will be held via Zoom, also non-RWTH participants are welcome to join<\/strong>.
