A special focus will be placed on 2D layer growth, layer transfer processes, and their applications in next-generation electronic and quantum devices<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Topics include:<br><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Synthesis of 2D and 3D materials, nucleation, growth processes, defects, and instabilities<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Selective-area epitaxy<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Influence of adlayers on crystal growth<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Formation of ultra-thin layers and nanostructures<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>In-situ monitoring of substrate conditions and growth<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Layer transfer and defects in layer structures<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Device performance related to layer deposition and properties<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Thin-film systems for qubits, quantum emitters, detectors, and memristive structures<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Atomistic simulations (DFT, molecular dynamics, kinetic Monte Carlo)<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Venue: <\/strong>Walter-Schottky-Haus, RWTH Aachen University, Aachen, Germany<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Dates:<\/strong> November 23\u201324, 2026 (lunch-to-lunch format)<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"> A networking dinner will be held on Monday evening.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Participation is free of charge and open to both DGKK members and non-members.
