His research interests include the\ndesign, processing and characterization of new electronic devices based on wide\nbandgap semiconductors and on two-dimensional materials such as graphene, molybdenum\ndisulfide (MoS2) and tungsten diselenide (WSe2).&nbsp; His work has been recognized with multiple\nawards, including the Presidential Early Career Award for Scientists and\nEngineers, the IEEE George Smith Award, and the NSF, ONR, and the DARPA Young\nFaculty Awards. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In his talk, Palacios\nwill review some of the recent progress on the use of graphene and other\ntwo-dimensional materials for ultra-low power CMOS circuits, sensors and large\narea devices for energy harvesting. &nbsp;He\nwill also present a new generation of micro-systems that probe the limits of\nelectronics. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The abstract of his talk can be downloaded <a href=\"http:\/\/www.graphene.ac\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/01\/seminar-palacios_16.01.20.pdf\">here<\/a>.
