{"id":977,"date":"2020-09-16T14:08:27","date_gmt":"2020-09-16T12:08:27","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.graphene.ac\/?p=977"},"modified":"2020-09-16T14:09:16","modified_gmt":"2020-09-16T12:09:16","slug":"congratulations-to-prof-sudipta-dubey","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.graphene.ac\/index.php\/2020\/09\/16\/congratulations-to-prof-sudipta-dubey\/","title":{"rendered":"Congratulations to Prof. Sudipta Dubey!"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>The Aachen Graphene &amp; 2D Materials Center congratulates Sudipta Dubey for her appointment as Assistant Professor at the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.iitk.ac.in\/phy\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Physics Department of the Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Kanpur<\/a>, in India.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<!--more-->\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\"><figure class=\"alignright size-thumbnail is-resized\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/www.graphene.ac\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/09\/sudipta-portrait-150x150.png\" alt=\"Portrait of Sudipta Dubey\" class=\"wp-image-978\" width=\"175\" height=\"175\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.graphene.ac\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/09\/sudipta-portrait-150x150.png 150w, https:\/\/www.graphene.ac\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/09\/sudipta-portrait-100x100.png 100w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 175px) 100vw, 175px\" \/><figcaption>Sudipta Dubey<\/figcaption><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n\n<p>Dr. Dubey came to Aachen in October 2019, as senior researcher in the <a href=\"https:\/\/institut2a.physik.rwth-aachen.de\/start\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Stampfer Lab<\/a> (2nd Institute of Physics A), after a postdoc at the Emory University, in Atlanta, where she did some remarkable work in the field of 2D single-photon emitters. In Aachen, she worked with Dr. Bernd Beschoten on time-resolved Kerr rotation measurements, to study the lifetime of interlayer excitons in van der Waals heterostructures based on transition metal dichalcogenides.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cWe\u2019ve been very happy to receive Sudipta\u2019s application\u201d, says Prof. Christoph Stampfer. \u201cHer broad scientific background and her previous experience made her a very interesting candidate for our group and for the Center. It was clear from the beginning that her staying would have been a short one, her goal being to find a permanent position in India. The appointment arrived even earlier than expected.
