Almost 20 years after the first reports on graphene and other two-dimensional (2D) materials, these remain a very active area of research in science and engineering. The vast amount of available data and the high performance of device demonstrators leave little doubt about the potential of 2D materials for applications in electronics, photonics and sensing, but high-tech products enabled by 2D materials are still hard to find on the market. The aim of this workshop is to discuss the opportunities that 2D materials offer for future electronics and the challenges that still need to be overcome to translate the scientific advances in the field into marketable innovations.
The program will cover the many facets of the field – from massive scaling and miniaturization („2D materials for more Moore“), to flexible electronics and sensors („2D materials for more than Moore“), to novel computing paradigms („2D materials for neuromorphic computing“). The workshop will also include a special hybrid session dedicated to electronics based on transition metal dechalcogenides (TMDCs) in cooperation with the 2D-Experimental Pilot Line. Original contributions by the participants in form of a poster are warmly welcome.
The workshop is ogranized by AMO GmbH and the Aachen Graphene & 2D Materials Center, in collaboration with RWTH Aachen Universiy, the University of Wuppertal and the 2D-Experimental Pilot Line.
